Sustainable design connects our inner spaces with our outer world. We look within to have the best outlook for our future.
What does it mean to design from the inside out? It’s a promise to design better. From the materials we use in our products to the impact they have within our spaces and beyond, we strive to close the loop and reduce our environmental impact. Through Inside-Out design we look within to have the best outlook for our future.
Our process backs our purpose. These areas of focus are driven by our 2030 GOAL to optimize 100% of our products to Cradle to Cradle® design principles and achieve net zero emissions across our enterprise.
To design products focused on the health & wellbeing of people and the environment.
Fuel the circular economy with safe, sustainable, Cradle to Cradle® inspired products.
Reduce our carbon footprint in our manufacturing and our products – and be a positive force in the effort to mitigate climate change.
Create positive social change and a more just world for all.
Our design and manufacturing PROCESS begins with curiosity. We see innovation as the key to measurably reduce our carbon footprint through recyclability, reusability and circular design – for a collective positive impact.
For working, living, learning, healing. Interconnected, from the inside out, PEOPLE are the heart of what we do. We are focused on providing opportunities in all that we do through diversity, equity and inclusion. Connecting people and purpose.
From the material health and durability of our PRODUCTS to how we manufacture them, we strive to close the loop and lower the overall embodied carbon of our products. Designing products for positive impact within our spaces today and beyond.
It’s about the PLACES we use and our place in the world. Looking within to have the best outlook for our future and for our planet. Positive impact for positive change.
By closing the loop. Circular design encourages us to rethink our processes and how we make our products. Our goal is to lower the embodied carbon footprint of our products as much as possible by reducing the need to extract raw material in our manufacturing through reclamation and recycling – recycled content to create new products out of old.

Our carpet tile EcoWorx® backing system is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver V4.0 and can be recycled at the end of its useful life.
Through our re[TURN]® reclamation program, we will take back any Shaw made resilient products to be recycled and made back into itself – reinserting ingredient back into product – reducing our reliance on raw material extraction.
Our yarn system uses 100% post-industrial recycled content, helping to lower the carbon footprint of our EcoWorx® carpet tile. Meaning we purchase fewer verified carbon offsets to make our products carbon neutral.
Made of a 100% PET that can also be recycled in its entirety, our non-woven composite performs like a hard surface with the comfort of carpet.
A collection of PVC-free, bio-based resilient products that are derived from rapidly renewable resources, EcoSystem offers sustainable construction and innovative design. Carbon neutral and with a low embodied carbon footprint, products are designed for positive impact within our spaces today and beyond.
Our running line carbon-neutral soft surface collections yield a low embodied carbon footprint and are fully recyclable.
