Connecting Our Inner Spaces With Our Outer World
With an inside-out approach to design—one that connects our inner spaces with our outer world—we’ve expanded our mindset. Addressing transparency and authenticity, process and materiality, this point of view shapes our innovation in both resilient and modular collections. From the materials we use, to acoustics and biophilic design, we create products that offer meaningful solutions for the people who use them most.
Patterns, textures, and colors that are rooted in nature ground a space, creating a natural sense of place. Our inner spaces reflect our outer desires to solve problems, form ideas, connect, and transform. Bring the outside in through texture, pattern, and sustainable materials and you begin to think differently about design and the notion of sustainability itself. It’s much bigger than the environment.

Acoustic design challenges that have arisen with modern, open-concept spaces need to be met with balanced solutions. Flooring is an important part of this equation, merging hard and soft surfaces to help with both transitions and acoustics. From the materials we use, to acoustic design and how our products can aid in sound absorption for noise control, we design to answer market demands with innovative solutions.

Developed by the International Living Future Institute, Declare is commonly referred to as a nutrition label for products — providing a standard reporting framework to disclose and compare a products’ ingredients against the Red List of chemicals. Patcraft is proud to offer Declare labels on the majority of our products.
The Health Product Declaration (HPD) provides a consistent and transparent reporting method for raw material ingredients and associated health information for building products. HPDs include an inventory of ingredients that are screened against a number of authoritative lists to help determine potential impact to humans and the environment.

In today’s world of design with limitless options and innovations, designers are looking for ways to easily learn, understand, and seamlessly investigate both the human and the environmental impacts for products.
mindful MATERIALS is a free platform that aggregates information on human health and environmental impacts for products from leading manufacturers to make it easier for designers and specifiers to make informed product choices. A mindful MATERIALS logo on a product’s sample folder or the inclusion of products in the mindful MATERIALS library denotes a manufacturer’s commitment to transparency.
Patcraft is proud to support the mindful MATERIALS initiative, and be part of the movement encouraging other design firms and manufacturers to do the same. We are committed to and take pride in our open and transparent process, and are grateful to the mindful MATERIALS team for helping designers and architects more easily determine the best products for project use.
The International WELL Building InstituteTM (IWBI) believes that buildings should be developed with people’s health and wellness at the center of design, and certifies buildings based on this principle. With a holistic approach to health in the built environment, there are established WELL Building Standards for air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.
Patcraft is a keystone member of IWBI (via our parent company Shaw Industries) and is proud to be part of a global network of organizations committed to building a better world for people everywhere. And our products support ten well building concepts.
